Don’t Make Assumptions

Last time we focused on The Second Agreement, Don’t Take Anything Personally.  This time I want to discuss the next agreement, Don’t Make Assumptions.

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.  Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.  With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. -Don Miguel Ruiz

How many times do we make assumptions that actually limit our potential and give away our power?  Why do we do this…what does it really say about us and our self esteem.  Why not make a decision to change, to reinvent your life?  Why not assume the best, why not assume the positive?

Start with your patients: assume everything will work out well, assume their life and health will absolutely change through chiropractic care, that they want health and life and vitality and that they are more than willing to invest in themselves and their families for improved function and life.  Assume that they will rave about you and your office, that they communicate chiropractic with ease and passion.

Act As If...Act as if you can’t fail.  Work your butt off, work harder than anyone around you, commit to being the best doctor you can be.  Commit to continued excellence and lifelong learning.  Continue to improve, shoot for the stars in all you do, if you fall short you may hit the moon…but shoot high and accept nothing less.

Invest in yourself, take seminars that will push you to be better and to serve at a higher level.  Invest in a mentor who will push you to achieve your potential.  Stop making excuses and instead step into your potential.  This isn’t the easy path, it shouldn’t be, but it is worth it and this hard work will pay off for you, your patients, your community and your profession.

If you’re finally ready to change everything, to stop accepting mediocracy, to create a better life and practice then it is time to commit to you.  Stop making excuses and step into your potential.  Fill out my Practice Health Mini Check Up and I’ll take it from there, let’s do this and let’s change the health of your community!
